A brief history of
Stardust Big Band
The origin of Stardust is somewhat
unassuming and was focused on the spirit and love of creating big
band music. It first came together in 1983 to
perform at Lockheed Electronics Company (now defunct).
Though the group has evolved over time, the founding members were all
from Lockheed.
Over the years, the band has been enthusiastically
received at fund raisers, weddings, social functions, corporate events and
celebrations throughout North and Central New Jersey under the
direction of Lee Walker, who transitioned management of the group
to trumpeter, Andrew Filippone. Today, the band is comprised of all professional musicians, many of which regularly perform in
jazz clubs throughout Manhattan and Northern New Jersey. Stardust offers
the area's finest musicians and the best in musical entertainment available today.
We continue to build our already
extensive music library to include recent compositions and
arrangements that bring new life to classics. And we
continue to grow our list of clients - and look forward to adding
your organization to that list.
